Q: Does my child need an EHCP to attend Pivot?
A: Most Pivot placements are made through a young person’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), agreed with their local authority. If your child doesn’t have one yet, our admissions team can talk you through what that process involves.

Q: What ages do you accept?
A: We work with children and young people aged 5 to 18 across our Leeds and Kirklees academies, including a Primary Day 6 service at Kirklees.

Q: How do I make a referral?
A: Most referrals come through your local authority SEND team, usually following an EHCP annual review. If you’d like to talk to us directly first, our admissions team is always happy to help.

Q: What support is available for anxiety and school avoidance?
A: Many of the young people we support have experienced emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA). Our relational, trauma-informed approach is built around rebuilding trust and confidence first, so learning can follow.

Q: Can I visit before deciding?
A: Yes — we’d really encourage it. Photos only tell you so much. We want you to see and feel what a Pivot day is really like before any decision is made.
