Two schools. One belief: every child deserves to belong.

Pivot Leeds and Pivot Kirklees are specialist, independent schools for children and young people aged 5 to 18 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism and associated learning needs. Each school looks and feels different — shaped by its own site, team and community — but both are built on the same belief that sits behind everything we do: education only works when a young person feels they belong.

That’s why, across both schools, small class sizes and calm, purpose-built spaces sit alongside a stage-not-age curriculum and relational, trauma-informed support. We build trust before we build timetables, because when trust grows, learning follows.

Pivot Leeds

Based across several small, calm, co-located buildings on our Killingbeck Drive site in East Leeds, Pivot Leeds supports learners aged 7 to 18 with complex SEMH needs, autism and associated learning needs — including a dedicated LINKS provision for young people experiencing anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA).

Curriculum — a stage-not-age offer from Entry Level up to eight GCSEs through our Elevate pathway

Pivot Kirklees

Operating across purpose-built sites in and around Huddersfield, including Salus House and Technology House, Pivot Kirklees supports learners aged 7 to 18 with complex SEMH needs, autism and associated needs — including a commissioned Primary Day 6 service for Kirklees Local Authority and outreach provision for Key Stage 4 and Post-16 learners through the Pivot Outreach Programme (POP).

Growing closer to home

Demand for specialist places continues to grow across Yorkshire and Humber, and so are we. New local hubs in Wakefield and Bradford will build on the same relationship-first approach as every Pivot school, bringing support closer to home for more families. Our ambition, set out in the Pivot Charter 2030, is simple: every learner within ten miles of a Pivot space that feels like home.
